An organisation used SafeHanded to ask you for a credential, or to send you one. Here is what that means for your personal data.
The organisation named on the page, usually your IT team or its IT support provider, decides why and how your data is used. It is the controller. SafeHanded, provided by Harman AJ Ltd, runs the service on that organisation's behalf as its processor.
What you type is encrypted on your device before it is sent, to the keys of the named people who can read it. SafeHanded cannot decrypt it. It is deleted when the request is completed, when it expires, or when the linked support ticket closes, whichever the organisation has set, and no later than 30 days after you submit it. Backup copies, still encrypted, are removed within a further 30 days.
These records form the organisation's audit trail. They are kept for the retention period the organisation has set, then deleted. The organisation may also send ticket updates to its own helpdesk, which it controls.
You can ask the organisation that sent the link for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Use the contact details on the page, or the ones you already have for your IT team. If you contact us at privacy@safehanded.com instead, we will pass your request to that organisation.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or, in the EU, your local data protection authority.
Don't enter anything. Use Report this link on the page, which cancels it and alerts the sender, and contact your IT team on a number you already know. You can check any SafeHanded link at safehanded.com/verifier.
